We all enjoy the magnificent little portable machines that are known as laptops. They’re one of life’s great inventions and without them many of us would almost feel naked, especially as they enable us to perform so many daily tasks, be it answering emails, posting on social media or Skyping a friend.
With the seemingly never-ending technological advancements that we’re being exposed to, the laptops on offer are becoming more and more sophisticated, with new enhancements constantly added over recent times. This year has been no different in that respect, as a vast array of high-quality laptops have been made available to us.
Gaming, in particular, has become a huge part of society. For example, a number of us game on more commonly known gaming devices like the PlayStation 5, where the likes of FIFA 20 and Fortnite continue to entertain millions of people. But other devices also standout in that respect these days too, with mobile phone gaming having a huge surge in recent times and casino websites, in particular, growing too.
Their promotions certainly appeal to a large audience. Other devices like the Nintendo Switch have also been hugely popular this year too. But gaming on a laptop has also grown alongside it. Laptops are competing with the very best and have a dedicated following, especially as the aforementioned technological advancements continually improve the gaming experience on them.
With that in mind and with a new year fast approaching, we thought we’d go through some of the top gaming laptops from 2024.
Asus ROG Zephyrus S GX701
Fact is, good quality gaming laptops aren’t always cheap. The Asus ROG Zephyrus S GX701 is far more advanced than any budget gaming laptop under $500 from 2023, that’s for sure. The 2024 offerings still serve a purpose for some gamers, but we’re trying to cover the very best gaming laptops from 2023 here.
With its 0.7 inches thickness, Intel Coffee Lake Core i7 chip, Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q graphics and 16GB of RAM, the Asus ROG Zephyrus S GX701 is exactly that. An additional bonus with the Asus ROG Zephyrus S GX701 is its RGB lighting which really is a cool added feature.
Acer Predator Helios 500
One of the more cheaper options from the year, the Acer Predator Helios 500 is a robust, powerful machine and, as said, it costs a lot less than some of the other top gaming laptops that were released in 2024 and won plenty of admirers.
Fitted with up to an Intel Core i9 processor and full-fat Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 graphics, it’s a laptop which can handle any game you throw its way. Chuck in its 144Hz Full HD display and you’re getting excellent value for money. The only downside, perhaps, is that it isn’t the most portable device around – because it’s an absolute beast – but when it comes to getting a bang for one’s buck, then it’s an excellent option.
Alienware Area-51
A hugely popular machine from 2024, the Alienware Area-51m is just about as good as it gets when it comes to gaming on a laptop. This machine packs one hell of a punch and is ideal for virtually any gaming creation out there. It’s extremely powerful, aesthetically pleasing, the keyboard is a dream, and although it’s one of the more expensive gaming laptops around (it certainly isn’t a budget laptop), you get what you pay for. The fact it also has VR readiness is a lovely added bonus to what is a laptop that is virtually impossible to fault.
